**we are deeply unsatisfied with the current suite of “social” products.

rather than facilitating human connection, they’ve robbed us of meaning while exploiting our time & attention.**

digitally created vanity factors and identity-group affiliations have corroded our social fabric & sense of connection with the nearby stranger.

today, we find ourselves presented with infinite choice for the next social connection & endless information about every person & place we could potentially interact with.

instead of spending more time connecting - we’ve chosen to spend more time at home - stuck in decision fatigue & analysis paralysis - a perpetual state of distraction & infinite entertainment.

we believe there is simply too much digital friction to get to a meaningful IRL interaction.

this has led to a social recession:

we are hell-bent on swinging the pendulum in the other direction.

we believe ”the metaverse” is one of humanity’s great filters. If we fail to acknowledge the joint threats of mass social isolation & hyper-realistic simulations that keep us endlessly distracted from the real world, we risk further falling into a deeply divided society.

additionally, 222 was designed on the principle that more information & more choices are fundamentally bad for the consumer.

Hick’s Law tells us the more choices we have, the longer it takes us to make a decision. We believe the more choices and the more digital information we have about the people and places we may interact with, the less likely we are to commit and show up to an IRL interaction.

We’ve applied all of this to our product design, brand, and marketing to create an experience that doesn’t allow for digital pre-conceived notions of the people and places we encounter.

****Finally, we believe that as AI will commodifies the virtual world through an abundance of slop & chatbot companions, IRL human to human connection will only become more scarce/valuable in the next 10 years.

****There are simply enough humans living in close proximity to make meaningful & authentic connections IRL at the tap of a button.

****the right technology & the right team can build a future where we’re spending the majority of our time interacting with the people & places in our lives.

join us.

—- We believe that a healthy society does not pick & choose social connections through self-identifying vanity factors or identity-group affiliations.

We are deeply unsatisfied with the current suite of social products used among our generation - rather than facilitating human connection, they’ve robbed us of meaning while exploiting our time & attention.
